Since it is 9/11 I figured I would write a little something to honor the date. RIP to those who died during this horrible day in history.

DRACO'S POV

Ginny Potter was crying. Potter was pacing. Draco had no idea what was going on.

"Oi, Potter!"

"Malfoy, I'm kind of busy, just get whatever insults you are going to say in, and leave me alone."

"I'm not here to insult you Potter, I was just curious why your wife is outside your office crying, and why you are out here pacing."

"The World Trade Center collapsed. That's why I'm pacing. So if you'll excuse me, I need to g-"

"The World Trade Center? That's where Gra-"

"Yeah. That's where Hermione works. So I need to go make a very important phone call."

"You go do that, Potter. I have to go." Draco started walking down the hall, finding a good place to apparate. He went straight to New York City where Hermione Granger was currently fighting for her life.

HERMIONE'S POV

It was just a normal morning in New York, and Hermione was on her way to the Twin Towers for a meeting. This was supposed to be her day off, but she was called in and she couldn't refuse. Little did she know that she would soon be fighting for survival. She was in the middle of her meeting on the 103rd floor when everything started shaking. Smoke and fumes started coming in through the vents and Hermione started coughing and sank to her knees. Soon the entire room was filled with smoke. People were desperately breaking open windows for fresh air. There was no way out. They were trapped. Hermione heard the familiar "pop" associated with apparition. She didn't know that she was working with other wizards.

"Hermione! Where are you?" Hermione recognized that voice. Since when did he call her Hermione? Well, she might as well return the favor.

"Draco! I'm over here! Follow my voice!" Because she had opened her mouth, smoke had flowed in, causing a hacking cough.

"Draco!" She croaked miserably. She needed air, and fast. She felt a pair of strong arms lift her up.

"Are you all right?" Not wanting to let in more smoke, she shook her head. Someone broke a window and jumped out. She could hear the screams of her colleagues as they were burned by the fire creeping in.

"Draco, there's no way out, I don't have my wand!" She screamed as the fire licked around her ankles. Draco held on to her tight and apparated out of the building. They landed in an abandoned alley and Hermione sunk to ground and cried. Draco went down with her and held her as she cried. She cried for the people she worked with, for the people in the restaurant, she cried for everyone that might have been hurt or killed. When she was down to a few hiccups, Draco picked her up and apparated back to his office. Inside Harry's office, Ginny and Harry were watching the footage of the towers collapse. Harry held Ginny in his arms as she sobbed, letting a few tears run down his face as well. Draco sat Hermione down on his desk, and went about fixing her injuries. He healed the scratches on her legs, and the burns on her ankles. He cleaned the ash from her face and clothing, and handed her a glass of water. She drank it quietly until Draco took it from her.

"Come on. I'm taking you to Potter." She stood up and walked behind Draco to Harry's office. She walked in and Harry and Ginny looked up.

"Hermione! How did you get out alive?" Ginny screamed as she wrapped her arms around her.

"I owe my life to Draco." Hermione left Ginny's arms and kissed Draco.

"Thank you."
